Crooked Places Made Straight

Over a year ago, I found out the sad news that someone I went to college with passed away after a battle with cancer. She and her husband were missionaries, and she died shortly after giving birth to their most recent child. This couple was respectable individually and as a married couple.

As I was going through Facebook tonight, I discovered that this man remarried. God graciously sent him a lady who loves God, loves him, and loves his children. I was blessed to read that. For anyone who has lost a spouse, you may think you could never love again. You may be afraid to take a risk. So much more is at stake when you are pushing 40 and have children. Whether you lose your spouse to death or divorce, it is painful in different ways. When God sends you someone, it feels like He made the crooked paths of your life straight. God is able to do that on multiple levels.

Have you made mistakes in the past? God can make the crooked paths straight. Do you think you are too far gone? God can make the crooked paths straight.

I will close with Isaiah 42:16 – “I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.”

  1. Indeed, God is the Master Highway Engineer AND Highway Construction Company! (Sigh) but like Jesus once said, “No one who has tasted the old wine wants the new.” Quite truthfully, after tasting the new wine, I can’t “palate” the old any more!
