On Sunday, January 29, 2017, I led the first service of Overcomers Church (a nondenominational church plant that is meeting at the Oconee Heritage Center in Walhalla, SC). We are a safe place where those who have been marginalized by the institutionalized church can find love, acceptance, and help to live for the Lord.
God put within my heart to start a church when I was called to ministry in 1997. The time has come to make this dream a reality. Our resources are meager, but our God is big! We are off to a great start with a very young group full of children and youth. If you are looking for a place full of business meetings, committees, and religious trappings, this isn’t for you. If you are looking for a casual place to worship where you can be real and not have to fake who you are inwardly and outwardly within a fancy building, Overcomers might be the faith community for you.
Many of you who follow this blog do not live near the Upstate of South Carolina. This does not exclude you from being a part of this ministry. We offer online resources and we encourage you to partner with us in prayer. If there is anything we can do for you, please contact us at one of the options below.
