Last year, I changed the name of my blog to keep my name with “Comeback Pastor” in parentheses. I feel that now I have stepped away from the pastorate (at least for now), maybe I should change what’s in the parentheses.
Let’s have some fun with this. Please humor me, especially those of you who like to have a little bit of fun with plays on words. I look forward to your responses.
This is a little interesting for me, as I was just describing you yesterday to my 84 year old stepddad who cannot read. For some reason when Comeback Pastor did not click with Him, I referred to you as the Prodigal Pastor but then realized it wasn’t quite the same. Sorry… I really don’t have a name for you and your blog. But I will be praying for both. 🙂
Thanks so much! And thanks for sharing my blog with your stepdad! I love how God uses this blog.
He is able 🙂
I guess the name depends on what you want to focus your writing on? What’s going to be your focus?
I really don’t know that my focus will change.
“Matthew’s Musings” has a nice Wintering ring 😀
Reblogged this on Talmidimblogging.
I’m racking my brain for a pithy name, but since you blog from a very real perspective on some of the petty and tedious struggles in trying to minister, my instinct is that the name should feature a word like “realistic” or “survive” or “overcome”…something that alludes to the content you post. Something like “Fighting the Good Fight” or “Running the Spiritual Race” or “Surviving & Thriving in Christ”
All of these are great suggestions!
I’ll be honored if you use one, but hopefully my suggestions can at least inspire you to think of the perfect name!
If we take the word seriously that all of us are Ministers and some are pastors, it could be The Comeback Minister – to the world and other places. Last part makes it too long but you are still ministering by the words you use.
You’ve stepped away from the pastorate? But I thought you were planting a church? Not sure I can help with the title unless I know a little more. What direction do you plan to take with the blog at this point? That would probably be a good place to start for your blog name. 🙂
The purpose of the blog will not change. I will continue to encourage and write randomly at times. God called me to step away from the church plant, but those who remain will take it and continue the work. I will take some down time and see where the Lord will place me, whether it is supply work or something a little more permanent.
How about “WINTER’S WONDERLAND”?
If I end up singing that song the rest of the evening, I’m driving to Alabama to hunt you down😂.
Well just come on! by the way, your musings are a wonderland of grace, truth and wisdom!
Now that I’m free on Sundays for now, I just may visit.
At the risk of sounding like a daytime game show….”Matthew Winters, come on down!”
A Name change huh? Wow let me think …. M.W. Writes; Winter Springs (a play on your last name) 😉; I also quite like The Comback Minister from scampertotellthestory. It all depends on the direction of where you want your blog to go as well. Let me know what you think lol 😁😉
M. W. Writes catches my eye a little. I’m having fun hearing from everyone.
Hope you are doing well Matt.
I am at peace and moving forward with anticipation. I hope you are doing well also.
I’m doing well. God bless you brother in all your endeavors.
I have the same issue Pastor. I eventually used my second name and surname. I think the most important part is the tagline describing your site.
Once a shepherd, always a shepherd, you just may be a shepherd in a different way, and that’s okay. David went from a shepherd to a king. He guided people. You are still a pastor to this blogging community, and God will use you.
Thank you for your continual encouragement!
We are to lift each other up, especially the shepherds! 🙂
